The Status and Future of the World's Large Rivers

A conference entitled, "The Status and Future of the World's Large Rivers" will be held in Vienna, Austria, from 11-14 April 2011.

The conference aims to provide a global forum for the discussion of key issues relating to research on large rivers and their effective and sustainable management, involving both scientists and decision makers.

The organisers strongly encourage participation from those specialising in the fields of hydrology, hydraulics and water quality; sediment transport and river morphology; ecology and restoration; and stresses, conflicting demands and integrated management.
